A big hole has opened up
now you are gone.
There is no laughter
there are no tears.
There is no focal point
to pass away our years.
You showed us the way in life
and how to get along
during good times and bad,
sometimes you made us mad
but always gave to others
your cheerful happy song.
Now we must learn to get through
life despite the void.
It will be hard as our thoughts
are redeployed
towards and existence striving,
like you, to be thriving.
Your life was an inspiration.
You were the lifeblood
of our soul.
We will follow your example
in our words, deeds and all
the things that make us whole.
